Detroit DD15

Located in Indianapolis, Young and Sons has been one of the leading Diesel Engines for the past 65 years. With the ever-changing industry, we train and keep our mechanics up to date with these changes and trends. All of our work is completed in our 60,000 foot facility and someone is here to answer any questions that you have about our Diesel Engines. We work on Detroit, Caterpillar and Cummins Diesel Engines to name a few. With our variety of engine options, we will be sure to have the best fit for you.

Functions of the Detroit DD15

The DD15 offers a smoother ride and extended maintenance intervals for users. With a breakthrough innovation system the Detroit DD15 delivers a 90% peak torque in 1.5 seconds. It offers a non-wastegated and non-variable turbocharger with dual overhead camshafts. They are quieter Diesel Engines with reduced vibration. The turbocharger has been streamlined which makes this engine lighter and more reliable. A variable-speed water pump controls the pump flow, which uses a clutch to reduce impeller speeds, which in turn makes it more efficient than geardriven designs. This improves the fuel economy as well. The fuel filter module uses a two-filter system. This allows for longer service change intervals.
