The 6BT Cummins was first used in 1984 for agricultural equipment. In 1989, they teamed up with Dodge to offer an engine for pick up trucks. This developed a huge growth in the popular engine, since it was a good alternative to gasoline.
6BT Cummins is a 5.9L inline-6. These engines are similar to the inline 6, which is used in jeep models. The 6BT has an iron cylinder block and head. That is what makes these engines extremely strong. Diesel engines are great for towing heavy equipment. The 6BT Cummins has the power you need to get your towing done.
